This is the answer to the question:
Hi, and thanks for your question. I know it's an experience to which all of us can relate.
That headache and depressed feeling is one that I can feel during times when I'm severely confronted by something. Usually fear based. It's my signal that I'm stepping out of my comfort zone.
Just found this wonderful exercise, moments before seeing your question http://www.soulpowermagic.com/secret1.pdf
As well, I would come up with the smallest action you could take in a moment of feeling that way. The 10 minute sprint, if you like. Just take that small action related to the adventure, challenge or project. Sometimes it's enough to jump start us and get us kicking forward.
A great exercise, one of my favorites:
• Send a letter to an imaginary 'guru' who has answers to all questions.
• Mail this letter to your own address, using 'snail-mail'.
• Pretend to 'be' the guru/expert and reply to the letter that you receive.
• Again, 'snail-mail' this letter back to the sender (you).
• Take at least one action based on the advice given by the 'guru'.
Another that I really love to move something aside is this 'Changing Belief' exercise by Paul Counsel:

It's great that you yourself have seen that the moments pass, usually as a result of taking some forward action to move beyond the comfort zone or simply because we get sick of ourselves feeling that way and we pull ourselves up by the scruff and make a firm decision, to either move forward or retreat!
Fence sitting is painfully uncomfortable for an extended period of time. So we need to jump off, on one side of that fence into new territory or back to the side of the fence from which we came. :) A decision of one kind or another is wanted there.
"One must also accept that one has 'uncreative' moments. The more honestly one can accept that, the quicker these moments will pass. One must have the courage to call a halt, to feel empty and discouraged." -Etty Hillesum
And... this may sound strange... however, sometimes a project or challenge is actually too small and we can feel stuck. You may need to create a larger vision...
"When you are inspired by some great purpose, some extraordinary project, all your thoughts break their bonds; your mind transcends limitations, your consciousness expands in every direction, and you find yourself in a new ,great and wonderful world. Dormant forces, faculties and talents become alive and you discover yourself to be a greater person by far than you ever dreamed yourself to be." -Patanjali
I know there's more I could have added, however I'll leave these here for a beginning.
Cheers, Thea
